Staff and Trustees


We have five staff working here at Home-Start Blaby District, Oadby and Wigston. We all come from different backgrounds and have different experiences but we all have the same passion to make a difference in families lives.

A Home-Start Trustee is a volunteer who serves on the governing board. Most Home-Start trustees consider their role within the charity both a privilege and a responsibility. We have nine trustees and an advisor to the board:

Trustees are responsible for making the charity effective, directing the management and administration of the charity and maintaining sound management of funds.

Home-Start needs trustees with a variety of skills and experience and from a wide range of backgrounds. No special qualifications are needed but it is important to have good interpersonal skills, a practical approach to working with people, an understanding of the pressures facing parents and an interest in supporting your local community. You may bring a particular expertise to the Board, such as professional skills in finance, IT, business or personnel management or marketing and PR, but equally is important as listening and communication skills, commitment and common sense.

We are extremely grateful for the hard work, commitment and time our trustees put into Home-Start Blaby District, Oadby and Wigston.
